"Why the name Small Unit Raid?" It's becuase I wanted a name that represented the idea of being small or lite. It is not a result of being a 'War Monger' or some other term that would imply that I like war, conflict, killing, or whatever. Plain and simple as that. However, I do have a healthy respect for those that put on a uniform and stand ready to engage in conflict in the interest of protecting my freedoms! Does that mean then that I support all conflicts? Not by a long shot! However, that doesn't mean that I don't support those men and women that are extensions of policy, however correct. Too many good men and women have been lost in ridiculous conflicts like Vietnam whose corpses came back home to be spit on. That's all the way wrong! "So you're pro-military?" No. I'm pro unity of a people! American or whatever. That means that when some stupid decision is made to send men off to a conflict that is not worth the blood in their viens, I'm not going to stand against those men, but instead, the decision makers, as it's my right to do. "You're a programmer! What do you know about this stuff?" The closest I came to military service was employment in a Para-Military organization. The California Dept. of Corrections. I worked at CTF-Soledad (Gladiator School!) in particular from '90 to '97. While it wasn't the military, the training was tough and the danger was VERY real. Just like the military, I was gassed with tear gas (CN & CS) in the acadamey, and expected to maintain weapons proficiency. That includes the HK94, which is essentially an MP5 (that little gif on the main page). I was also expected to re qualify quarterly with my off duty weapon (a Ruger P85 MKII). In short, I saw and engaged in my share! I guess you could say I'm trying to follow a theme. I hope this causes no offense to anyone. Cheers, BDKR
